Ingredients

For the Sangria
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 375 ml non-alcoholic white grape juice ½ bottle
  • 1.5 ounces non-alcoholic bourbon alternative
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 0.5 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 Cosmic Crisp Apple sliced
  • 4 orange slices
  • 1 cinnamon stick plus extra for garnish
  • 1 cup sparkling water ¼ cup per cocktail
  • ice cubes for serving
For the Cinnamon Sugar Rim
  • 0.25 cup cane sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 orange wedge

Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Whisk
  • Shallow bowl
  • Cocktail glasses
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Make the Sangria
  1. Pour the apple cider, non-alcoholic white grape juice, bourbon alternative, and maple syrup into a large pitcher. Whisk until fully combined.
  2. Add pomegranate seeds, sliced apple, orange slices, and the cinnamon stick to the pitcher. Stir gently to distribute.
  3. Cover the pitcher with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours, allowing the fruit to infuse.
Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Rim
  1. Shortly before serving, combine cane sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Rub the orange wedge around the rim of each cocktail glass to moisten.
  2. Dip the rim of each glass into the cinnamon sugar, coating evenly. Let the glasses sit for a few minutes to help the sugar set.
Serve
  1. Fill each prepared glass with ice cubes. Ladle the chilled sangria into the glasses, including some fruit in each serving.
  2. Top off each cocktail with ¼ cup sparkling water, stir lightly, and garnish with a cinnamon stick or a dried orange slice if desired.

Notes

You can prepare the sangria base and fruit up to a day in advance—just keep it chilled and add sparkling water right before serving so it stays bubbly. The cinnamon sugar rim is optional but adds a festive, spiced touch. If Cosmic Crisp apples aren’t available, use Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala for similar crunch. Store leftover sangria in the fridge for up to 2 days, but always add the sparkling water to individual glasses just before serving to maintain the fizz. Fresh rims hold best when made just before pouring.
