Method
- Cook chopped turkey bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove to a paper-towel-lined plate, leaving about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the pan.
- In the same skillet with bacon grease, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onion is softened, about 6-8 minutes.
- Drain excess fat, then stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, yellow mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise. Remove from heat.
- Mix the beef mixture with cooked pasta, half of the cheddar cheese, and the crispy bacon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream/milk. Fold this into the pasta mixture.
- Transfer to a greased casserole dish and top with remaining cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with optional toppings like sliced pickles, diced tomatoes, and green onions if desired.
Notes
You can customize this casserole in many ways: use regular bacon instead of turkey bacon, swap ground beef for turkey or chicken, or try different cheese varieties like pepper jack or smoked gouda. For a low-carb version, replace pasta with cauliflower florets. Leftovers taste even better the next day and reheat well.
