Cheesy Air Fried Sweet Pepper Poppers

Crispy, creamy, and slightly spicy appetizers made with mini sweet peppers stuffed with jalapeño cream cheese and wrapped in wonton wrappers. These air-fried poppers are perfect for parties, game day, or as a delicious snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 ounces colored mini sweet peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 5 jalapeño peppers minced
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • water for sealing wrappers
  • cooking spray

  • Small bowl
  • Knife

Method
 

  1. Combine softened cream cheese with minced jalapeño peppers in a small bowl and mix thoroughly.
  2. Cut off the tops of the mini sweet peppers and remove seeds and membranes.
  3. Stuff each pepper tightly with the jalapeño cream cheese mixture.
  4. Place one stuffed pepper in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  5. Dab water along the edges of the wrapper, then roll up the pepper, pressing firmly on moistened edges to seal.
  6. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  7. Arrange poppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary.
  8. Lightly spray the tops of the poppers with cooking spray.
  9. Air fry for 5-10 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
  10. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can make the cream cheese filling ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator. For less heat, remove jalapeño seeds and membranes. The cream cheese should be at room temperature for easy mixing. These can be prepped ahead and stored in the fridge until ready to air fry. Cooking times may vary between air fryer models, so watch closely for golden-brown color.
