A smooth and creamy avocado dip that's perfect for snacking or entertaining. Made with fresh avocados, lime juice, and optional cilantro, this healthy dip comes together in minutes and pairs beautifully with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice plus zest (optional)
  • 1 small garlic clove finely grated
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro chopped (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch cumin or chili flakes optional

Method
 

  1. Mash avocados with lime juice until mostly smooth, leaving some small chunks for texture if desired.
  2. Stir in grated garlic, chopped cilantro (if using), salt, and pepper to taste.
  3. Add a pinch of cumin or chili flakes if desired for extra flavor.
  4. If not serving immediately, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the dip to prevent browning.

Notes

This dip is best served fresh but can be stored for 1-2 days if properly covered with plastic wrap touching the surface to prevent browning. Feel free to adjust the lime juice and seasonings to taste. For variations, try using lemon juice instead of lime, or red onion instead of garlic. The dip pairs well with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a spread for sandwiches.
