Method
- Trim and discard wing tips, then separate the drummets from the wingettes.
- Combine melted butter with hot sauce in a bowl.
- Toss wings in the butter-sauce mixture until well coated.
- Marinate for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Working in batches, arrange wings in the air fryer basket without touching.
- Cook first batch for 12 minutes, shaking basket halfway through.
- Repeat with second batch.
- Combine both batches in air fryer for a final 2-minute blast to ensure all wings are hot and crispy.
Notes
For best results, don't overcrowd the air fryer basket as this prevents proper crisping. You can substitute Frank's hot sauce with your preferred sauce or try different variations like dry rub, Asian-inspired sauce, or BBQ sauce. If using frozen wings, add 5 minutes to the cooking time. Serve with celery sticks, ranch or blue cheese dressing for a classic presentation.
