- Trim and discard wing tips, then separate the drummettes from the wingettes.
- Melt butter and combine with hot sauce in a bowl.
- Toss wings in the butter-sauce mixture until well-coated. Marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook wings in two batches for 12 minutes each, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- Once both batches are done, combine all wings in the air fryer and reheat for 2 minutes to ensure even temperature.
Notes
Use fresh chicken wings rather than frozen for better crisping. For a milder flavor, adjust the hot sauce-to-butter ratio. The wings can be served as is or with additional buffalo sauce on the side. For best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. You can also customize the sauce with alternatives like honey garlic or lemon pepper, or use a dry rub instead.
