- Rinse the cranberries thoroughly under cold running water, then drain well.
- Combine the cranberries, orange juice, sugar, and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until most cranberries have burst and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle in a pinch of salt and stir to mix well.
- Remove from heat and let the sauce cool. It will continue to thicken as it cools. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 10 days or freeze for up to 6 months.

You can prepare this cranberry sauce up to ten days ahead and store it in the fridge, or freeze it for up to six months. Frozen cranberries can be substituted for fresh; use about four cups, thawed and drained. If the sauce is too thick after chilling, stir in a tablespoon of orange juice or water at a time until you reach your desired consistency. This sauce complements turkey, chicken, pork, or can be served with cheese boards and sandwiches.
