- Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prep a baking sheet by greasing it or covering it with parchment paper.
- Unroll both crescent dough sheets and cut each one into 4 equal rectangles, making a total of 8 pieces.
- Evenly layer the sliced chicken onto each dough rectangle. Place a cheddar cheese stick on top of the chicken on each piece.
- Fold in the ends of each dough rectangle, then roll up tightly around the filling and pinch all seams firmly shut to keep the cheese and chicken sealed inside.
- Arrange the assembled sticks on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each for even baking.
- In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, dried onion, and poppy seeds.
- Generously brush the butter mixture over the tops of each stick, covering them completely.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the sticks are golden brown and crisp on top. Watch closely near the end of the baking time to avoid over-browning.
- Serve the ham and cheese sticks hot and enjoy!

Notes
For easy variations, swap in ham, turkey, or roast beef in place of chicken, or use string cheese or mozzarella instead of cheddar. To make ahead, assemble the sticks, refrigerate for up to 4 hours, and brush with the glaze just before baking. Leftover sticks keep in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in a 350°F oven to restore crispness rather than using the microwave. If freezing, bake from frozen and add a few extra minutes to the oven time, watching for golden color. These are best served hot with your favorite dipping sauces like marinara or ranch, or alongside soup or salad.
