Method
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Pour the candy eyes into a small bowl for easy access during assembly.
- Place the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe cup or tall jar (taller containers work better for dipping).
- Microwave the chocolate at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring between each burst until completely smooth and melted.
- If the melted coating seems too thick, stir in ½ to 1 teaspoon of neutral oil or coconut oil to achieve the desired consistency.
- Dip each pretzel rod about three-quarters of the way into the melted coating, scraping the bottom against the rim of your container and gently tapping to remove excess.
- Place the dipped pretzels on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each one.
- Transfer the remaining white coating into a small zip-top bag or piping bag and snip off a tiny corner.
- Drizzle the coating back and forth across each pretzel in zigzag patterns to create the mummy "bandage" look, being sure to leave a small gap for the face.
- While the drizzle is still tacky, quickly press two candy eyes into the gap on each pretzel.
- Allow the mummy pretzels to stand at room temperature for 20-30 minutes until completely set, or refrigerate for 5-10 minutes to speed up the process.
- Once set, gently peel the mummy pretzels from the parchment paper and serve.

Notes
For best results, make sure your candy eyes are ready before you start dipping, as timing matters when adding them to the partially set chocolate. If you're using real white chocolate instead of candy melts, add 1 teaspoon of shortening or coconut oil to help it melt smoothly.
These mummy pretzels can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For gifting, package them in clear treat bags tied with spooky ribbon.
Try using colored candy melts in Halloween hues like orange, green, or purple for a fun variation. You can also make mini versions using pretzel sticks instead of rods for bite-sized treats.
