Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup minced parsley or cilantro
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2-1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage
  • 1/4 cup non-dairy milk substitute or chicken/vegetable broth
  • 1/2-1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2-1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 organic egg can substitute half a mashed banana
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound ground organic turkey
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2-1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

Equipment

  • 9x5-inch loaf pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground organic turkey, non-dairy milk substitute (or broth), egg, chopped onion, grated carrot, minced parsley or cilantro, chopped celery, and all seasonings (onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, sage, salt, and pepper).
  3. Using your hands, thoroughly mix all ingredients until well incorporated.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan, gently patting it down to create an even surface. Avoid pressing too firmly to prevent a dense texture.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the top is lightly browned and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Before serving, drain off any excess juices from the pan to prevent soggy slices.
  7. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

This meatloaf is incredibly versatile and can be adapted to various dietary needs. For an egg-free version, substitute half a mashed banana as a binder. Feel free to adjust the herb and spice measurements to suit your family's taste preferences.
Leftovers make excellent sandwiches and will keep refrigerated for up to 3 days. For a complete meal, serve with roasted sweet potatoes, steamed green beans, or mashed cauliflower.
