Ingredients

  • 1 cup lemonade chilled
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda very cold
  • 2 cups 100% grape juice well chilled
  • Gummy worms for serving
  • Ice optional
  • Lemon slices optional
  • Edible glitter or luster dust optional, for sparkle

Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Serving glasses

Method

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the well-chilled grape juice and chilled lemonade. This creates the base of your magical potion.
  2. For best results, refrigerate this mixture until ready to serve to keep it extra cold.
  3. Just before serving, gently pour the very cold sparkling water or club soda into the grape-lemonade mixture. Pour slowly to preserve the bubbles.
  4. Give the mixture a light swirl with a spoon - avoid vigorous stirring which will flatten the fizz.
  5. Fill glasses with ice (if using), then pour in the purple punch.
  6. Drop a few gummy worms into each glass to create the effect of creatures swimming in a magical potion.
  7. If desired, garnish with lemon slices and sprinkle with edible glitter for extra sparkle.

Notes

For a spookier presentation, place your punch bowl inside a larger bowl with dry ice and warm water around it (never in the actual drink) to create a fog effect. The mist will crawl over the edges for a truly magical appearance.
Keep all ingredients well-chilled before mixing for the most vibrant color and longest-lasting bubbles. This punch is best served immediately after adding the sparkling water.
For variations, try the Black Cat version by replacing half the grape juice with blackberry juice for a deeper purple color, or add small scoops of lemon sherbet to create a bubbling cauldron effect.
