Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp instant espresso or strong instant coffee
  • 1 Tbsp pumpkin spice
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup powdered milk
  • Pinch of salt optional, to balance sweetness
  • ¼ tsp vanilla powder optional, for extra flavor

Equipment

  • Medium bowl
  • Whisk
  • Airtight container

Method

  1. Gather all ingredients: powdered milk, sugar, pumpkin spice, and instant espresso (plus optional salt and vanilla powder if using).
  2. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk thoroughly until perfectly blended with no clumps or streaks remaining.
  3. For a finer texture, transfer the mixture to a food processor and pulse a few times until uniform and silky smooth.
  4. Transfer the completed mix to an airtight container and label with serving instructions.
  5. To serve: Stir about 3 tablespoons of mix into 1 cup of hot water. For a richer drink, use hot milk instead of water, or a combination of both.
  6. For an iced version, dissolve 3 tablespoons of mix in 2-3 tablespoons of hot water, then add cold milk and pour over ice.

Notes

This mix keeps well in your pantry for up to three months in an airtight container. For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut milk powder for the powdered milk. Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more or less sugar, or try monk fruit or stevia for a sugar-free option (start with half the amount). For a chocolate variation, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the mix.
This makes a wonderful homemade gift - package in small Mason jars with serving instructions for a thoughtful seasonal present.
