  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 pinch Fine sea salt to taste
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter 113g, softened
  • ¼ teaspoon Vanilla extract optional
  • ½ teaspoon Orange zest optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter for 30-60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add honey, ground cinnamon, and sea salt to the creamed butter. If using, add the vanilla extract or orange zest.
  3. Beat everything together for 1-2 minutes until the mixture becomes lighter in color and fluffier in texture.
  4. For casual serving, spoon the butter into a ramekin, creating decorative swirls on top with the back of your spoon.
  5. For a more elegant presentation, transfer the mixture onto parchment paper, roll it into a log shape, and twist the ends to seal.
  6. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes if you want it slightly firm, or serve immediately at room temperature for a softer spread.

Notes

For the best flavor experience, serve this butter at room temperature to allow the cinnamon notes to fully develop. European-style butter with higher fat content creates an extra-rich result. Try different honey varieties like clover, wildflower, or orange blossom to subtly change the flavor profile.
For a dairy-free version, substitute plant-based butter sticks. Maple syrup can replace honey for a different flavor dimension. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
