Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 loaf frozen white bread dough thawed
  • 1/4 cup butter melted

Equipment

  • 9x5-inch loaf pan
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, garlic salt, and dried parsley flakes. Whisk thoroughly to ensure even distribution of seasonings.
  2. Cut the thawed bread dough into 1-inch pieces to create bite-sized chunks.
  3. Dip each piece of dough into the garlic butter mixture, ensuring all sides are well coated.
  4. Layer the coated dough pieces in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  5. Cover the pan and place in a warm spot. Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size, approximately 60 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake the loaf for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

For the best flavor, use real butter rather than margarine. Fresh parsley can be substituted for dried - simply chop it finely and use about twice the amount. This bread is best enjoyed fresh from the oven while still warm, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in a 300°F oven for 5-10 minutes to restore the warm, buttery texture.
For a cheesy variation, try sprinkling grated parmesan or mozzarella between layers of dough before baking.
