Ingredients

  • Ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon lavender syrup
  • 2 teaspoons honey adjustable to taste
  • 1/2 cup strong chilled coffee or 1-2 shots espresso plus cool water to make 1/2 cup
  • 1/4-1/2 cup milk dairy, oat, or almond milk all work

Equipment

  • Tall glass
  • Spoon

Method

  1. Fill a tall glass with plenty of ice cubes.
  2. In a separate container, stir the honey and lavender syrup into the chilled coffee until completely dissolved.
  3. Pour the sweetened coffee mixture over the ice.
  4. Slowly add your preferred milk to create coffee-shop-worthy layers. For more defined layers, try pouring the milk over the back of a spoon.
  5. Give everything a good stir before drinking to marry all the flavors together.

Notes

For the best flavor, use a medium to dark roast coffee that can stand up to the other flavors. Oat milk creates a particularly creamy version that complements the lavender wonderfully.
This recipe transforms beautifully into a hot latte—just use hot coffee and steamed milk instead of cold ingredients.
Prep the lavender syrup ahead of time for quick assembly on busy mornings. Store any leftover syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
