Ingredients

  • ½ cup lemon-lime soda or club soda very cold
  • ¾ cup pineapple juice very cold
  • ¾ cup mango nectar or orange juice concentrate thawed (for orange base)
  • Ice cubes
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Candy corn pieces or orange sanding sugar optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • Clear glasses
  • Spoon

Method

  1. Thoroughly chill all liquid ingredients before beginning. Cold liquids layer much better than room temperature ones.
  2. Fill two clear glasses completely to the top with ice. This helps maintain separation between the colorful layers.
  3. For the bottom orange layer, divide the mango nectar or thawed orange juice concentrate between the ice-filled glasses.
  4. For the yellow middle layer, position a spoon just above the orange layer, bowl side down. Slowly pour the cold pineapple juice over the back of the spoon so it gently cascades over the ice rather than mixing with the orange layer.
  5. Using the same spoon technique, carefully pour the lemon-lime soda for the white top layer, allowing the bubbles to create a lighter, bubbly crown.
  6. Add a generous swirl of whipped cream on top to complete the candy corn look.
  7. If desired, garnish with a piece of candy corn or orange sanding sugar.
  8. Serve immediately for best visual effect and taste.

Notes

For a creamier version, try using vanilla cream soda instead of lemon-lime soda, or add a splash of half-and-half before the whipped cream. Dairy-free guests will enjoy it with coconut whipped topping.
For an adult version, add a splash of vanilla vodka to the yellow layer - just be sure to keep a separate kid-friendly batch clearly labeled.
Don't worry if your layers aren't perfect on the first try. Even if they blend slightly, you'll still have a delicious creamsicle-meets-pineapple concoction that captures the Halloween spirit.
