Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 24 slices turkey pepperoni
  • 4 mozzarella string cheese sticks cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons pizza sauce optional, for rolling
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • grated Parmesan cheese optional, for topping
  • extra pizza or marinara sauce for dipping

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate crescent roll dough into 8 triangles along the perforated lines.
  3. If using pizza sauce, spread about ½ teaspoon over each triangle.
  4. Layer 3 slices of turkey pepperoni on the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Place half a mozzarella string cheese stick on top of the pepperoni.
  6. Roll up each triangle from the wide end toward the point, tucking in any filling.
  7. Place rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  9. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Add Parmesan cheese if desired.
  10. Bake until golden brown and cheese is melty.
  11. Serve with warm pizza or marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

You can customize these rolls with different meats like regular pepperoni, ham, or cooked sausage. Shredded mozzarella can be used instead of string cheese. Add vegetables like finely chopped bell peppers, olives, or mushrooms, but ensure they're dry to prevent soggy rolls. For extra heat, add red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix. These can be served as appetizers, snacks, or as a meal with a side salad.
