Ingredients

  • 4-5 pounds fully cooked boneless turkey ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice or apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves optional
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons butter cubed
  • Whole pineapple rings and maraschino cherries optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • Slow cooker
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Place the turkey ham flat side down in the slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.
  3. Pour the glaze mixture evenly over the ham.
  4. Scatter the cubed butter over the top of the ham.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
  6. Occasionally baste the ham with the collecting glaze during cooking.
  7. Optional: Before serving, arrange pineapple rings and maraschino cherries on top for garnish.

Notes

You can substitute traditional pork ham for turkey ham if preferred. The ham should be fully cooked before going into the slow cooker. For variation, try using honey instead of maple syrup, or apple cider instead of pineapple juice. If the ham is too large for your slow cooker, trim it slightly or slice it in half to ensure proper fitting. Basting occasionally during cooking helps build flavor and keeps the ham moist.
